Sberbank of Russia (initially a contraction of the "Savings bank of Russia") is a Russian banking and financial services company headquartered in Moscow. Sberbank has operations in several European and post-Soviet countries. As of 2014, it was the largest bank in Russia and Eastern Europe, and the third largest in Europe ranked 33rd in the world and first in central and Eastern Europe in The Banker's Top 1000 World Banks ranking.
More than 35 Sberbank of Russia branches in Chelyabinsk and Chelyabinsk region are equipped with the video surveillance system based on Macroscop software. The system is made of more than 1135 IP cameras of LTV, Etrovision, Hikvision, and Beward brands. Each branch has a separate monitoring center, which maintains the security of the particular Sberbank's premise. Moreover, Sberbank's Head office executives have an access to the video being recorded at the bank's affiliates. The cameras ensure the safety of the clients, ATMs, monitor the personnel's activities and encashment processes. Particular attention is paid to the cash zones, where the video system allows to control the cashiers' activities and maintain the customer service quality.
Installation of CCTV systems in the banking sector requires additional attention and the maximum level of security. In the case of Sberbank, it was required to organize a monitoring system in each branch office, to integrate these systems as centralized monitoring solution, to provide stable system operation, and to dramatically reduce the risk of failures. Macroscop software has successfully coped with all these tasks.
The company "ITC OT" was involved in the system's installation. Its experts comment on Macroscop:
"The final video system organized by Macroscop is very convenient, operates quickly and accurately. Display mode allows security officers to monitor all bank premises at the same time, and the Head of Security Service also has round the clock access to the system via Macroscop free mobile application. This is so convenient. The system has been working for more than 3 years. No serious problems or failures occurred. Once we had some troubles updating the Macroscop 1.5.5 version, but Macroscop technical support has helped us quickly and courteously. In general, the video surveillance system is very stable, Macroscop developers regularly invent new features and options, provided with free upgrades."
